A performer, an educator, but most importantly, a collaborator, Thomas Doggett is a versatile musician. Primarily known as a saxophone player, he is equally comfortable in the classroom, on the podium conducting, or behind a mixing console. He is heard regularly performing in Des Moines, Iowa with English, Courtney Krause, and Scot Sutherland.
Thomas’ success is linked to his two primary teachers: Greg Banaszak (international soloist) and Bob Reynolds (John Mayer, Snarky Puppy). He models both of their teaching styles in his own classroom at Urbandale High School, where he serves as director of the Wind Ensemble, Jazz One, and the Urbandale J-Hawk Marching Band. Prior to this, he taught at Muskingum College, Ohio University-Zanesville, Kent State, Hiram College, Cincinnati School for the Creative and Performing Arts, College of Mount St. Joseph, South-Western Community College, Central College and Woodward Academy.
His diverse musical palette stems from his collaboration with Two Turntables and a Saxophone, Boom Boom Horshack, 4-Track All-Stars, Living Fountain Dance Company, Noel Quintana and the Latin Jazz Crew, the South-Eastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra, Freestyle, Corey Taylor’s JBKB, JaZz In A FuNkY PLaCe, Cleo’s Apartment, One Nite Stand, and Signal:Noise:Sound:System.
He proudly endorses TM Custom tenor saxophones designed by Randy Jones at Tenor Madness.
